When you hear news that makes your heart drop. Makes it feel like its 300 degrees in your room and like someone punched you in the chest.
Tonight I found out that a helicopter in my cousins unit went down and two marines died, and we don’t know who. And wont know until they get clearance to call.
I have been praying to god that he is okay, but even as I did I felt awful.
If I’m not losing my cousin, someone else is losing theirs. Or their son, husband, brother, father.
In situations like this theres no winning for anyone.

I can’t do anything about it but sit here, clenching this dog tag and wishing and hoping he’s okay. While I’m praying for the families of those that were lost, and thinking what if it’s mine?

Cherish what you have when you have it. You never know when it’ll be ripped away from you.
My heart goes out to the marines of 24 MEU and their families.
